Use Your Phone

Scan a paper document into a PDF.

Choose your phone below. Both options use common built-in tools.

iPhone

Scan with the Files app

  1. Open Files and go to the folder where you want to save the PDF.
  2. Tap the More button (three dots), then Scan Documents.
  3. Hold your camera over each page. Adjust the crop if needed, then tap Keep Scan.
  4. Repeat for every page, then tap Save. Your iPhone combines the pages into one PDF.

Have photos already? In Photos, select them in page order, tap Share → Print, then pinch outward on the preview. Tap Share again and choose Save to Files.

Android

Use Print or Google Drive

  1. In Gallery or Photos, select your clear page images in order and tap Share.
  2. Choose Print (it may be under More options).
  3. Open the printer or destination menu and choose Save as PDF.
  4. Tap Save or the PDF icon, then choose where to store the file.

You can also open Google Drive, tap +, choose Scan, capture each page, adjust the crop and order, then tap Save. Menu names can vary by phone.

  • OrientationRotate any page that appears sideways or upside down.
